This workshop was designed to give participants - actors, directors, set designers and countless others - the tools they need to interpret and create drama.
After warm-up games, participants engaged in a discussion of drama and took a brief practical look at different theatre styles, and then considered the difference between scripted work and improvisation. We looked at various texts and examined three key areas in which a playwright will give clues in his or her script that the trained eye can spot.
The participants then acted in a number of extracts, applying what they had learnt about interpreting these clues.
