Blurb

First, we warmed up the three vital areas – mind, body and voice - with simple games and exercises. Next, we looked at the concept of improvisation and illustrated it with simple and effective games to get the creative juices flowing.

Whilst there are no absolute rules, we were able to look at some useful basic guidelines to help us create a scene. We applied these guidelines to look at how to keep the story "burning"[!!] in a two-person dialogue.

We then looked at how you can support your fellow actors in a larger scene – and looked at how this changes the dynamic of creation. Splitting into sub-groups, we then looked at creating moments – and, later, scenes – for two or more actors. All the time we did not need to depend on prepared texts since we were creating the drama as we went. Challenging? Yes. Achievable? Of course! Rewarding? YEESSSSSSS!!
