Getting involved in Theatre in the community
MYP & DP students! Are you looking for a fun, social and engaging activity to complete the requirement for Creativity Action and Service to pass your course? Hong Kong Players has been staging their annual Christmas panto for decades. We have always
attracted a wide range of the Hong Kong population to our shows, be it in the audience, or onstage! This year we are asking for new energy and vigour to help us make the magic happen BEHIND stage. We need about 6 people per performance to help move props, organise costumes and literally learn the ropes about life backstage. It could make a great C.A.S activity, but could also lead you to develop new skills, learn how to overcome challenges and to socialise with a whole bunch of fun and like minded people. You never know, it might even lead you into a career that you’d never thought of before.

Hong Kong Players present an evening of two hilarious plays presented by two directors and a wonderful cast in the McAulay Theatre, Arts Centre Wan Chai.
HK Players presents a double bill of hilarious one-act comedies. In The Virtuous Burglar by Dario Fo, a burglar is discovered when the owner of the flat returns unexpectedly with his mistress. The situation turns to farce when the owner’s wife arrives and the burglar is forced to pretend the mistress is his wife. In Alan Ayckbourn’s A Cut in the Rates, Miss Pickhart visits the illusionist Ratchet on official Town Hall business, and she discovers a sinister secret. It seems one of his magic tricks may have gone horribly wrong!
